Donation Policy

This Donation Policy outlines how contributions to the Urgent2k pool are received, managed, and used by Excella Digital Limited ("Excella Digital", "we", "us").

1. Nature of Donations

Donations to Urgent2k are voluntary, non-refundable contributions to a community micro-grant pool. A donation is not an investment, loan, or purchase of goods or services. Donors do not acquire any ownership, equity, or interest in Excella Digital or the Urgent2k programme.

2. Who Can Donate

  • Any registered Urgent2k user who is at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Donors must use a payment method in their own name — third-party or anonymous card payments are subject to additional verification.
  • Corporate or institutional donors should contact partnerships@excelladigital.com for bulk arrangements.

3. Minimum Amount & Processing

Minimum

The minimum donation is ₦100. There is no maximum, but amounts above ₦500,000 per transaction may trigger additional AML checks.

Payment channels

Donations are processed via Flutterwave. We accept bank transfers, debit cards, USSD, and supported mobile wallets. Standard payment-processor fees may apply and are deducted at source.

4. Use of Donated Funds

Donated funds are used exclusively for:

  • Beneficiary disbursements — the ₦2,000 micro-grants sent to eligible individuals.
  • Operational costs — payment-processing fees, identity-verification API costs, infrastructure, and support operations necessary to run Urgent2k.

We do not use donation funds for advertising, executive compensation bonuses, or unrelated business activities. We publish aggregate pool-usage statistics on our Impact page.

5. Beneficiary Selection

Donors do not select, nominate, or influence which individuals receive disbursements. Beneficiaries are determined solely by our eligibility and verification systems. This ensures fairness and prevents preferential treatment.

6. Receipts & Records

  • A digital receipt is generated for every successful donation, visible in your account dashboard.
  • Donation history can be exported from the History page.
  • Urgent2k is not currently registered as a tax-exempt charity. Donations may not be tax-deductible. Please consult your tax adviser.

7. Refund of Donations

Donations are generally non-refundable once processed. However, refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate charge caused by a technical error.
  • Unauthorised transaction (you must report within 72 hours).
  • Significant discrepancy between the intended and charged amount due to a platform bug.

8. Donor Privacy

Donor names and amounts are never publicly displayed without explicit consent. Aggregated donation statistics (total raised, number of donors) may be published on the Impact page. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
